Photography and Fooood

I went to Emily's yesterday to bake some $1 million dollar peanut butter cookies along with Jason and Jon. They were kinda involved but worth it in the end. It was pretty nice to kick back, play some cards, and bake. Jason was also able to show me tons of crazy features on my camera. Never did it dawn on me that reading the manual would have yielded anything useful like this. Probably the coolest feature is the time-lapse photography. It takes a picture every one or two seconds, then strings it together to make a video. Taking tons of pictures of me to make a video of me so that everybody can watch and enjoy me in the convenience of a minute or two is pretty genius. Kudos to you Canon.

Then I went to Priscilla's to film our Theater/Film History project. That was cool I guess, but her grandmother had made menudo, which was awesome. Then she gave me a ton to go home with which I am eating right now. Why does food make me so happy??

Senior Luau

Eighteen dollars bought me a ticket to the senior luau this last Friday. Was it the Hawaiian spectacle that I had half imagine? Not really. The food was pretty good, people left early to watch the laker game, and there was an odd lack of chairs (you guys are slipping up, ASB 08-09). I managed to take a grand total of two pictures.

Not the most flattering picture of me, I look like an old man retired in Florida with that $3.25 Saver's shirt on, but I'm not one to be vain. April looks beautiful as usual. The other picture was of the fire dance the performers did, which was the highlight of the show.

But there is always myspace to steal pictures from others!!

Dennis probably had the best get-up. And its a little strange how happy I look in any of the pictures I take in Richard's arms. Overall it was an enjoyable event. Got to eat, saw some people in Hawaiian outfits, took in the senior atmosphere. Good stuff.

The Blog Begins

I sit with a little more than a month left before I leave for college. The creation of a blog is half an attempt to document the experience. Abraham Lincoln had a journal, and I have a blog (I considered a journal, but decided it was impractical). It's also an effort to keep in contact with those that I leave back in California. Twenty-four seven newsfeed from MIT! I usually lose interest in these types of things (ie. my decrepit xanga from 7th grade) but hopefully these changing times will spur me to write on my life. I'll probably keep this under wraps until I build up some content and deem it worthy.
